Very close to the port, this Mediterranean garden of 10,000 m² opens onto the sea. It has promenades and play areas for children.

With its acreage of 57 hectares and its 11 km of marked trails, this is a conserved site offering an exceptionally rich and diverse plant life (umbrella pines, holm oaks and olive trees).

The "Promenade du Paillon”

 

In the very heart of the city and over 1.2 km long, designed by the landscape architect Michel Péna, it connects the Promenade des Anglais to the Théâtre National de Nice.

This is a vast garden offering botanical and architectural themed areas (Asia, Africa, Oceania, South and North America, a “Jardin d'Acclimatation” tropical garden, and a carnation conservation area).

You will also find 5 children’s play areas and a reflecting pool of 3,000 m².

The “Jardin Albert 1er”

One of the oldest public gardens in Nice. Founded in 1851, with a surface area of 32 000 m², since 1988 a metal sculpture created by the sculptor Bernard Venet has stood in its centre: the "Arc Monumental 115,5°". It depicts the angle of curvature of the universe according to Einstein’s theory.

The “Promenade des Anglais” along the beach

A real tourist attraction, this is Nice’s most celebrated promenade.

 

Its length is 7 kilometres; its beaches with their famous blue deckchairs give strollers the opportunity to sit down and enjoy the panoramic view offered by the "Baie des Anges".

Situated on the south-eastern tip of France, thirty kilometres from the Franco-Italian border, the city of Nice stands on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, along the "Baie des Anges" and on the mouth of the Paillon river.
